According to ESPN.com News Services and The Associated Press, a man in a car—accompanied by another passenger—pulled out a gun when parked alongside Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin.

Thinking that the two men recognized the radio talk show host, Irvin said that he rolled his window down when the car next to him rolled down theirs. Instead of a warm greeting and hello, one of the men flashed a gun, and Irvin admits to being scared at that moment.

However, one of the men then called out Irvin’s name and then mentioned that he was a Cowboy fan, eventually recognizing that Irvin was who he was, and the men began to talk football and the Dallas Cowboys with Michael. After a hardy conversation, the men drove off and went on their way. Irvin told the Dallas Morning News that he was “glad he was a Cowboy fan.”
